3.8% Dinar Surge: Iraqi Dinar Breaches $1 = 1,499 IQD Mark as Local Market Rally Accelerates
MARKET WATCH — The spread between Iraq’s official exchange rate and the informal market continues to shrink. With the street rate dipping to 1,499 IQD per $1, local exchange markets are moving closer to the Central Bank of Iraq’s (CBI) official peg of 1,310 IQD per $1.
🚨 Iraqi Dinar Gains More Strength! The Gap Keeps Closing! 📈🇮🇶💵
The Iraqi Dinar continues to strengthen in the parallel market, with the exchange rate improving to 1,499 IQD per $1, bringing it even closer to the Central Bank of Iraq's official rate of 1,310 IQD per $1.
💵 This means the dollar is weakening in the street market while the dinar continues to gain strength.
🏦 One of the CBI's primary objectives has been to reduce the gap between the official exchange rate and the parallel market rate. Long before any future revaluation discussions, we learned from a contact inside the CBI that this had to happen first. Seeing that gap continue to shrink is exactly the direction many have been watching for.
📉 A smaller spread means greater control over the currency, increased confidence in the banking system, and a stronger foundation for Iraq's monetary reforms.
✨ The fact that the Iraqi Dinar continues strengthening from one day to the next is encouraging and positive. Every reform appears to be moving Iraq closer to its financial goals.
🧩 Keep connecting the dots... We may be closer than ever!
