A new exchange rate update highlights another important milestone in Iraq's monetary reform process.
📊 Key Highlights:
✅ July 1
• $1 = 1,559 IQD
✅ July 20
• $1 = 1,504 IQD
This means the Iraqi dinar has strengthened in the parallel market.
Just a few weeks ago it took 1,559 IQD to buy $1. Today, it takes only 1,504 IQD—an appreciation of approximately 55 IQD per U.S. dollar, reflecting a stronger Iraqi currency.
🏦 Official CBI Exchange Rate:
• $1 = 1,310 IQD
The parallel market is still above the official rate, but the gap continues to shrink.
📉 Gap on July 1:
1,559 − 1,310 = 249 IQD
📉 Gap on July 20:
1,504 − 1,310 = 194 IQD
➡️ The spread has narrowed by 55 IQD in less than three weeks.
To me, this is the real message behind the announcement.
The CBI is essentially telling the Iraqi people:
"Look at what we've accomplished—and what is still in progress. Our monetary reforms are stabilizing and strengthening the Iraqi dinar."
Why publicly announce this progress?
Because it demonstrates that the Central Bank of Iraq has never abandoned the Iraqi dinar. It continues to show that it cares about the currency's value and is working toward a stable, stronger dinar that reflects Iraq's sovereignty, economic strength, and national pride.
These results suggest that the CBI's reforms are having an impact by:
✔️ Reducing dependence on the parallel market.
✔️ Combating the black-market exchange system.
✔️ Strengthening confidence in Iraq's banking sector.
✔️ Bringing the market exchange rate closer to the official CBI rate.
🧩 Keep connecting the dots.
For years, the CBI has emphasized that reducing the gap between the official and parallel exchange rates is one of its primary monetary reform objectives. As the parallel market continues to weaken and the gap narrows, Iraq moves closer to achieving that goal.
While this update does not confirm a revaluation or a change to the official exchange rate, it does show measurable progress toward greater monetary stability. Many IQD observers believe that reducing the parallel market and closing this exchange-rate gap are important milestones before any future adjustment to Iraq's exchange rate policy.
🇮🇶 Every reform appears to be strengthening the foundation for a more stable and resilient Iraqi financial system.

💬 Frank26: A Deep Loss of Trust in Major U.S. Banks
Frank26 believes that Wells Fargo, JPMorgan Chase, and JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon have left many Iraqi dinar investors feeling disappointed, frustrated, and misled.
According to Frank26, for years Americans repeatedly heard statements suggesting that the Iraqi dinar investment was nothing more than a scam. At the same time, he believes these same institutions maintained long-standing business relationships with Iraq's banking sector, creating what he sees as a contradiction between their public messaging and their international involvement.
Frank26 specifically points to Jamie Dimon, recalling interviews in which Dimon reportedly stated that JPMorgan was not involved with the Iraqi dinar. In Frank26's view, those comments conflicted with the bank's broader financial relationships in Iraq over the past two decades.
Frank26 says this experience came at a personal cost. He describes years of uncertainty, sleepless nights, public ridicule, and emotional stress while holding onto his investment despite widespread skepticism. As a result, he says his confidence in these financial institutions has been permanently damaged.
He goes on to explain that trust is the foundation of any banking relationship. From his perspective, if a bank is willing to misrepresent one issue, it raises concerns about how customers' money might be handled in other areas. He expresses concerns about excessive fees, penalties, or other practices that could negatively affect customers, emphasizing that these are his personal opinions rather than established facts.
Frank26 concludes by saying that he no longer intends to do business with institutions he believes did not communicate honestly with investors. In his view, this chapter is coming to an end, and he believes many investors will remember how they felt during this period when deciding where to bank in the future.
Whether others agree with Frank26 or not, his central message is clear: once trust is lost, rebuilding it can be extremely difficult.

Wells Fargo and JPMorgan along with the CEO Jamie Dimon have embarrassed tens of thousands of Americans. In the last years...we were constantly told by Well Fargo, JP Morgan the dinar is a scam...Jaimie Dimon did many interviews where he said, Oh, no, no, no, we're not involved.
For the last two decades they've been involved deeply in Iraqi
banks...Jaimie Dimon personally caused me so much pain...sleepless nights ...embarrassment...
It's going to be extremely impossible for me to ever consider to do any business with Wells Fargo [Chase?] banks. If they lie to me about this investment...then they will have no problems lying to me about the money I put in their banks...They will find ways to get it away from me...fees... penalties ...reasons ...It is disgusting the way they lied to us. But those days are over.
