Roland Westebe, Chargé d'Affaires at the German Embassy in Iraq, confirmed the importance of the newly launched Access to Finance Guide, calling it a "strategic step" to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Iraq.

🏦 Financial Access for SMEs

Westebe explained that while many financial services exist in Iraq, SMEs often struggle to access them due to:

  • Lack of transparency

  • Limited public information

  • Services being offered through private or complex channels

The new guide aims to:

🗣️ “This project is a major strategic step to improve access to financing for small and medium-sized enterprises and enhance Iraq’s financial sector,” said Westebe.
