🇩🇪🤝 German Embassy: ‘Access to Finance Guide’ Will Strengthen Iraq’s Financial Sector

Roland Westebe, Chargé d'Affaires at the German Embassy in Iraq, confirmed the importance of the newly launched Access to Finance Guide, calling it a "strategic step" to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Iraq.

Westebe explained that while many financial services exist in Iraq, SMEs often struggle to access them due to:
Lack of transparency
Limited public information
Services being offered through private or complex channels
The new guide aims to:
Act as a central resource for SMEs
Clearly outline available financial services
Show how to access and evaluate them
🗣️ “This project is a major strategic step to improve access to financing for small and medium-sized enterprises and enhance Iraq’s financial sector,” said Westebe.
