Iraqi MP initiates proposal to halt oil exports to Jordan

Shafaq News / MP Mustafa Jabbar Sanad revealed on Saturday that he has collected signatures from parliamentarians to issue a resolution to suspend oil exports to Jordan. This initiative comes in response to the airstrikes conducted by US aircraft in western Iraqi regions, with the participation of Jordan.

Sanad stated, "I have gathered signatures from parliamentarians to issue a parliamentary resolution requiring the Ministry of Oil to halt the sale of subsidized oil to Jordan."

Sanad further remarked, "We must use our resources correctly to preserve the dignity of our country and protect the lives of our men, our pride, and our national sovereignty."

Accompanying the statement was a document signed by MP Sanad, which included a link to a list of signatures from parliamentarians demanding the inclusion of an item in the agenda of the upcoming session of the Parliament. This item calls for a vote on a resolution requiring the Ministry of Oil to cease selling crude oil at the supported price to Jordan due to its participation in recent attacks against Iraq.

Notably, this is not the first time the Iraqi Parliament has called for halting oil exports to Jordan. Zainab Al-Mousawi, a member of the Parliamentary Oil and Gas Committee, had previously stated that Jordan's stances were "consistently hostile" towards Iraq, especially towards Al-Hashed al-Shaabi (Popular Mobilization Forces-PMF).

Furthermore, in the latest official statistics, the Iraqi Oil Marketing Company (SOMO) reported that the average selling price of exported crude oil to Jordan was $75.5 per barrel last October.

It is noteworthy that Iraqi oil exports to Jordan have increased to approximately 15,000 bpd under a revised agreement from the previous deal, which mandated the sale of 10,000 bpd of Iraqi oil to Amman at prices lower by about $16 per barrel during the month.

If all the rumors are to be believed- coming from every corner of the “blogisphere” ….they are saying the CBI has released rates to the government of Iraq and Iraq has released those to all the central banks in the world including the US and that everything is locked and loaded. That is the chatter.

There are a lot of NDA’s and a lot of leaning on folks in groups for not speaking…..but to my knowledge they have no funds yet. There is all kinds of chatter and more and more people I know are under NDA’s. In bonds, Currencies and groups- which to me is an exceptionally good sign. Redemption center folks say they are on the normal “on call” within 2 hours right now.

“ The US Treasury requests Iraqi cooperation to limit funding for armed factions” This is all part of what’s going on as Iraq cleans up. And yesterday - again in Iraq - they started openly talking about the exchange rate and the value of the dinar.

Iraq summons Chargé d'Affaires of US Embassy in Baghdad over airstrikes, 4 FEB

Shafaq News / The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Saturday the summoning of the Acting Chargé d'Affaires of the US Embassy in Baghdad, David Perker.

The Head of the American Department, Diyari Ahmed Majid, delivered an official protest memorandum to the Acting Chargé d'Affaires, expressing Iraq's rejection and condemnation of the US aggression that targeted Iraqi security forces, as well as civilian sites in the Akashat and Al-Qa'im areas. These airstrikes resulted in casualties and injuries, including civilians, and caused damage to residential buildings and citizens' properties.

According to the statement, Majid reiterated Iraq's rejection of its territories being used as a battleground for settling disputes between conflicting parties, emphasizing that "our country is not a venue for sending messages and showcasing power between adversaries."

He also affirmed, "The government will exert every effort required by ethical, national, and constitutional responsibility to protect our land, cities, and the lives of our civilians and security forces."

Earlier today, the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced its intention to summon the Acting Chargé d'Affaires of the US Embassy in Baghdad, David Perker, due to the absence of the US Ambassador Alina Romanowski.

In the early hours of the day, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported that its forces conducted 85 airstrikes in Iraq and Syria, targeting sites belonging to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' (IRGC) Quds Force and affiliated militia groups.

US President Joe Biden had directed military forces to strike targets in Iraq and Syria used by the IRGC and its affiliated militias to attack US forces, affirming that the United States, although not seeking escalation in the Middle East, will respond decisively to those who harm Americans.

Furthermore, John Kirby, the spokesperson for the White House National Security Council, confirmed on Saturday that the Iraqi government had been notified prior to the airstrikes.

In response, Iraqi government spokesperson Basim Al-Awadi denied any prior coordination between Baghdad and Washington regarding the airstrikes carried out by US forces targeting security forces' sites in al-Anbar governorate in western Iraq. Al-Awadi affirmed that 16 people were killed and 25 others were injured as a result of this "aggression."

Hope you guys are doing okay. it is close to 3 pm here in Sydney. I decided to have a chat because I am getting private messages asking why “we are not seeing anything.”

Most of you are stressed out, living out of cars, and it is sad to see that. Many wait to see what Wolverine is doing.

Please start doing research, I am not the military here. I wish I was in charge and I would have started this thing a long time ago. I want to say something to make you feel at ease: It has started. I have spoken to very big whales: The biggest ones in Spain and South America, and they have told me what they could (as they had NDA), but she did tell me yes.. yes!!.. It has started!! She basically gave me the green light by what she said. She said, “Don’t worry about it. No need for you to do any more intel. it has started.”
