Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi affirmed on Monday that relations between Iran and Iraq are at their best, noting the close cooperation between the two countries in the political, economic, security and border fields.
During his visit to Iraq to participate in the Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), Araqchi said that the Arbaeen pilgrimage represents a major maneuver that reflects the unity of the Iraqi and Iranian peoples and the depth of the religious and ideological ties between them.
He added that the recent visit of the Iraqi Prime Minister to Tehran witnessed fruitful discussions, stressing that joint cooperation includes coordinating political positions, economic and trade files, securing borders and regulating movement across them, as well as developing joint transit routes.
