Central Bank: Iraq has one of the highest gold reserves in the Arab world
Baghdad – Mil
Central Bank Governor Ali Al-Alak confirmed on Tuesday that Iraq has one of the highest gold reserves in Arab countries at 162 tons.
Al-Alak said that “the central bank is actively following the movement of gold and currencies,” noting that “part of diversification to avert any risks is to have a percentage of gold reserves, especially in recent years there have been continuous purchases.”
He added that “Iraq today has 162 tons of gold, which is one of the highest reserves at the Arab level, and we are the fourth country in the size of the reserves we have of gold.”
