Trump’s special envoy for hostages, Adam Boehler, accused Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani of repeatedly making "false promises" regarding the release of Elizabeth Tsurkov,
an Israeli-Russian researcher held in Iraq since 2023 by Kataeb Hezbollah. Boehler stated, if she does not come home now, Sudani "is either incapable and should be fired or, worse complicit."
