Iraq Inflation drops to 3 percent - "monetary policy has achieved its goals."
This came at a time when the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Dr. Ali Al-Alaq, announced that inflation in Iraq had fallen to 3 percent. During the conference, he pointed out that "Iraq has achieved control over inflation that can be described as excellent, as it decreased from 7 percent to 3 percent, which means that monetary policy has achieved its goals."
He explained that "the process of reforming and restructuring banks is proceeding on the best path, along two lines: the first is reforming and restructuring government banks, and the other is private banks and making them perform their duties according to international standards."
