Al-Sudani confirms Iraq’s determination to consolidate relations with the United Kingdom in various fields

Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani stressed on Tuesday Iraq’s determination to consolidate constructive bilateral relations in various fields, and in a way that promotes the mutual and sustainable interests of the Iraqi and British peoples.
The Prime Minister’s Information Office said in a statement, seen by “Economy News”, that “Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani met the King of the United Kingdom, His Majesty Charles III at Buckingham Palace in the British capital London.”
He added, “During the meeting, bilateral cooperation between Iraq and the United Kingdom was reviewed, and ways to establish a productive partnership in various economic and developmental fields. Cooperation in the field of facing the challenges of climate change and opportunities for enhancing cultural cooperation were also discussed.”
Al-Sudani, according to the statement, expressed “his appreciation for the official invitation he received to visit Britain,” stressing “Iraq’s determination to consolidate constructive bilateral relations in various fields, and in a way that promotes the mutual and sustainable interests of the Iraqi and British peoples.”
For his part, King Charles III welcomed the prime minister, pointing to the depth of the historical relationship between Iraq and Britain, and the outstanding importance that the governments of the two countries attach to developing common interests and understandings at various levels.
