President of the Republic: Iraq is witnessing distinguished developments at various level

President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid stressed that Iraq is currently witnessing distinguished developments at various levels, especially its relations with the European Union and the rest of the world, after its victory over terrorist gangs.

This comes during President Rashid's meeting today, Monday, at the Peace Palace in Baghdad, with a delegation from the European Foundation for Dialogue and Development.

President Rashid explained, according to the Presidency’s Media Office, in a statement followed by Al-Masry, that “the efforts made by the Presidency of the Republic on the path to strengthening civil, constitutional and human rights in Iraq through its contribution to submitting draft laws directly related to citizens’ lives to the House of Representatives for approval, and its continuous follow-up of the mechanisms for implementing the basic principles of human rights, which led to the release of thousands of detainees who had completed their sentences.”

Meanwhile, members of the European Foundation for Dialogue and Development delegation expressed their thanks and appreciation to the President of the Republic, stressing the organization's keenness to expand the horizons of cooperation with Iraq in a way that strengthens the European Union's relations with it at all levels
