Al-Sudani calls for not paying attention to "rumors" that are trying to "thwart" the census in Iraq

Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani called on Iraqis not to pay attention to "rumors" that are trying to "thwart" the general population census in the country, which was launched this morning, Wednesday.

This came during his presentation of the required information about himself and his family, upon receiving the General Population Census team, according to a statement issued by the Media Office.

Al-Sudani reiterated the emphasis on all citizens to cooperate with the mobile census teams and provide correct and accurate information, due to the importance of the resulting database and its decisive role in development plans and service development.

The Prime Minister pointed out, "The necessity of not paying attention to false and misleading rumors that attempt to thwart this constructive scientific step, which is decisive for the future of our generations."

The curfew came into effect in all governorates of the country, at dawn on Wednesday, as part of preparations for the general population census, which will be conducted this morning and will continue until the end of tomorrow, Thursday.

Meanwhile, Minister of Planning Mohammed Ali Tamim, in a statement today, called on all Iraqis to cooperate with the census teams by receiving them and providing correct data, given the importance of this in shaping the future of Iraq.

He stressed that the census is of exceptional importance because it will contribute to ensuring social and economic justice and improving the level of services in all areas.
