CBI pushes for Regulation of E-Commerce in Iraq

A meeting on the regulation of e-commerce in Iraq was presided over by Ali Mohsen Al-Alaq, Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI), with participation from relevant authorities.

The meeting focused on registration procedures and obtaining licenses for e-commerce activities as topics of control and consumer protection.

Through the use of an electronic platform that will be developed by the Ministry of Commerce, the committee defined service providers and established a licensing procedure. Council individuals accentuated the significance of permitting guidelines to shield all gatherings associated with internet business.

The participants agreed to send the regulatory framework to the Cabinet for approval.
