Sudani reaffirms government’s readiness to develop scope of cooperation and partnership with IFC
Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani met in Davos, Wednesday evening, with the delegation of the International Finance Corporation / IFC, headed by Executive Vice President Mokhtar Diop.
A statement to his office, a copy of which was received, said: “The meeting witnessed a review of the prospects of cooperation between Iraq and the international institution, a member of the World Bank Group, in light of the Iraqi government’s economic reforms and the implementation of major strategic and investment projects.”
Al-Sudani reiterated his assurances “to develop the scope of cooperation and partnership with the International Corporation, especially after the signing of a contract between the Civil Aviation Authority and the International Corporation to prepare an investment portfolio on the project to develop Baghdad International Airport; to be in line with international airports, and in accordance with international standards in a comprehensive manner.”
For its part, the IFC delegation expressed the desire to expand its business in Iraq as an attractive area for investment, as well as to participate in the strategic development route project, and the major projects attached to it.
