 Nechirvan Barzani welcomes the Iraqi-American agreement: The region will help protect the stability of Iraq

Shafaq News/ The President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, welcomed on Thursday the agreement between Iraq and the United States of America to resume the work of the Supreme Military Committee.

Barzani said in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency: “We welcome the agreement of the Iraqi federal government with the American government to resume the work of their Supreme Military Committee (HMC) and the progress of talks on bilateral relations and the future of joint cooperation in the political, economic, cultural, security and military fields.”

He added, “The Kurdistan Region supports this agreement and will cooperate and help protect the safety, security, stability and sovereignty of the country and strengthen relations on the basis of mutual respect and common interests.”
