The representative of the State of Law coalition, Jassem Al-Moussawi, confirmed today, Tuesday, that the restoration of the provincial councils will end the worsening corruption in projects by some employees due to the absence of permanent oversight of them, adding that the provincial council elections will change the governors without them remaining in office for long periods.
Al-Moussawi said, in an interview with the Maalouma Agency, that “allocating huge funds from the general budget of the governorates requires new faces working to implement government plans on the ground,” pointing out that “local councils will work to classify these funds in a way that serves the public interest.” For citizens.
He added, “The absence of governorate councils in recent years has a clear impact on the level of services and infrastructure,” noting that “returning governorate councils to service is to establish a strong democratic system for the country.”
Al-Moussawi added during his speech: “The provincial councils will eliminate many of the security and service problems that most governorates suffer from,” noting that “restoring the provincial councils will end the worsening corruption in projects by some employees as a result of the absence of permanent oversight of them.”
