🚨🇮🇶 IRAQ TAKES ANOTHER STEP TOWARD STABILITY! Could This Be Another Piece of the RV Puzzle?🇮🇶✨

🚨🇮🇶 IRAQ TAKES ANOTHER STEP TOWARD STABILITY! Could This Be Another Piece of the RV Puzzle?🇮🇶✨

According to reports from Al-Mada, Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi is preparing to travel to Tehran to seek Iran's cooperation in encouraging armed factions to surrender an estimated 8 ballistic missiles and hundreds of drones before the government's September 30 deadline.

Why does this matter? 🤔

✅ A stronger Iraqi government with full control over security is essential for long-term economic growth.
✅ Stability helps protect the 48 agreements recently signed with the United States in the areas of energy, finance, and technology.
✅ The continued return of Iraqi banks to the global correspondent banking network supports Iraq's financial modernization.
✅ Every step toward stronger institutions and the rule of law builds confidence for international investors.

For those following Iraq's monetary reform, this is another reminder that security, political stability, and economic reform often move forward together. While this report does not confirm an RV, it reflects continued efforts to strengthen the foundations of a modern and globally connected Iraq.

🌍 Every reform completed brings Iraq one step closer to achieving its long-term economic vision.

Stay informed. Stay patient. Watch the progress. 🇮🇶💙

AL-ZAIDI TRAVELS TO TEHRAN SEEKING (removal of ) EIGHT BALLISTIC MISSILES BELONGING TO THE FACTIONS… AND TRUMP IS WATCHING

(Mnt Goat:I look at these visits as reporting in to Iran. Iran must then agree whatever to Iraq and US agreed to accomplish or else it does not get done. Let’s hope this trip to Iran is not the same and is really all about disarming the factions inside Iraq)

In a true test of his promises to US President Donald Trump and his return to the country yesterday, Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi is preparing to visit Tehran on July 23, a trip reminiscent of his predecessors’ (as Tehran has traditionally been the next stop for any prime minister after Washington). According to Al-Mada newspaper, information indicates that al-Zaidi will ask the Iranian side to exert pressure on armed factions (groups outside state control that refuse to disarm) to release what is known as the “ballistic missile card” and hand over the hidden missiles (estimated at about 8 ballistic missiles and hundreds of drones) before September 30, the deadline set by the government to resolve the issue of uncontrolled weapons.

This move comes in coordination with the diplomatic arrangements witnessed in Baghdad yesterday, Sunday, through the meeting of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Muhammad Hussein Bahr al-Uloom, with the Iranian Ambassador, Kazem Al-Sadiq, to discuss the agenda of the visit, at a time when political circles warn that any failure of Al-Zaidi to dismantle this weapon will negatively affect the overall great gains he brought back from Washington, which included the signing of 48 agreements and memoranda of understanding in the energy, finance and technology sectors, as well as the return of Iraqi banks to the global correspondent network.

Statement

After five busy days in Washington, Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi returns to the destination that has traditionally been the next stop for any Iraqi prime minister: Tehran. But this time the visit does not appear to be an extension of protocol, but rather a test of whether the promises he brought from the American capital will hold up at the first Iranian turn.

Informed political sources told Al-Mada that Al-Zaidi will request, during his visit to Iran scheduled for July 23, that Tehran exert pressure on the armed factions to release what the sources describe as the “ballistic card,” and hand over the missiles in their possession before September 30, the date set by the government to end the issue of weapons outside the state.

The sources add that the meetings in Tehran will focus primarily on the groups that are now described within government circles as “rebels,” who refuse to disarm, while estimates indicate that they are hiding hundreds of drones, in addition to at least “8 ballistic missiles,” which they obtained from Iran, and refuse to hand them over at the instigation of Tehran.

The sources believe that the government is now facing a crucial test. If al-Zaidi is unable to fulfill his pledge to disarm the militias by the end of September, many of the gains he brought back from Washington will be threatened.

“An opportunity to get rid of Iran’s influence”

For his part, former diplomat Ghazi Faisal believes that al-Zaidi’s visit represents a qualitative shift in Iraqi-American relations after years of stagnation, noting that relations were affected by the failure to appoint an American ambassador in Baghdad, the continuation of rocket attacks on the American embassy and the Kurdistan Region, and more than 600 attacks targeting American interests and attributed to factions allied with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.

Faisal tells Al-Mada that Iraq has suffered in recent years from the difficulty of achieving a balance between its relations with Tehran and Washington, and that Iranian influence has been strongly present in political decision-making. He adds that the current visit gives Baghdad a wider opportunity for political, economic and security independence.

🇮🇶💰 Are Iraq's Latest Headlines Sending a Clear Message?

📌 News Summary

Iraq's Finance Minister, Faleh al-Sari, stated that the ministry's recent measures are intended to maintain transparency with Parliament, review actions needed to keep the government financially stable, and move forward with administrative reforms.

🔎 My Analysis

In my opinion, the news coming out of Iraq over the past several days seems to be delivering one consistent message to the government:

👉 "Iraq must continue diversifying its sources of revenue."

Those exact words may not appear in the headlines, but they seem to be the common thread behind discussions about administrative reforms, transparency, spending efficiency, modernization of government institutions, and strengthening public finances.

Today, Iraq still relies on oil for roughly 90% of its government revenue, leaving the country highly exposed to oil price swings and OPEC+ production decisions.

That is why I believe every announcement about digitizing government services, improving tax collection, strengthening financial management, and implementing administrative reforms points toward the same long-term objective: building a stronger, more diversified, and more sustainable economy.

💡 Why is this encouraging for those of us following the Iraqi Dinar (IQD)?

Because a country with diversified revenue streams is generally more financially stable and less vulnerable to fluctuations in the oil market. If Iraq continues strengthening its public finances and reducing its dependence on oil, it would be creating conditions that many observers view as supportive of a stronger national currency over the long term.

⚠️ This does not mean a dinar revaluation is imminent, nor do these headlines confirm one. However, for those who have followed Iraq's economic reforms for years, seeing continued progress toward structural reforms and revenue diversification can reasonably be viewed as a positive development within the country's broader economic strategy.

👀 My impression is that these are not isolated headlines—they appear to be pieces of a larger economic roadmap that is becoming increasingly clear.

What do you think? Are you also noticing a stronger emphasis on revenue diversification in Iraq's recent announcements?

🇮🇶 Iraq's Liquidity Crisis Proves Why Economic Diversification Matters

Iraq is reportedly facing a severe liquidity crisis following a sharp decline in oil revenues. As a result, officials are discussing domestic borrowing and other measures to ensure public-sector salaries and essential government expenses can continue to be funded. 💰⛽

The real story, however, isn't about the exchange rate—it's about economic dependence.

For years, Iraqi leaders have stressed the importance of diversifying the country's income beyond oil. Today, they're experiencing firsthand why that strategy is essential. When oil revenues decline, government finances immediately come under pressure.

A resilient economy cannot rely on a single source of income. Long-term stability comes from expanding sectors such as industry, agriculture, tourism, logistics, and private investment. 🌱🏭✈️

This situation is a clear reminder that economic diversification isn't just a goal—it's a necessity for Iraq's future. 📈🇮🇶

🚨🇮🇶 IRAQ CHOOSES STABILITY OVER DEVALUATION! A POSITIVE SIGNAL FOR THE DINAR? 💵✨

🚨🇮🇶 IRAQ CHOOSES STABILITY OVER DEVALUATION! A POSITIVE SIGNAL FOR THE DINAR? 💵✨

A new report highlights the financial pressure Iraq is facing due to delayed public-sector salaries and lower oil revenues. However, what caught my attention wasn't the budget challenge—it was how Iraqi economists believe the country should respond.  👀

Here's why this matters:

✅ Iraq's foreign currency reserves remain strong and are considered sufficient to cover approximately one year of imports.

✅ Experts say the government has other options available, including domestic borrowing, bond issuance, and external financing.

✅ Most importantly, former Central Bank officials emphasized that changing the Iraqi Dinar's exchange rate should be the LAST RESORT, warning that a devaluation would increase inflation and reduce citizens' purchasing power.

Think about that for a moment... 🤔

In the past, Iraq adjusted the exchange rate during a period of severe fiscal pressure. Today, even with budget challenges, the discussion has shifted toward protecting the Dinar's stability rather than weakening it.

That doesn't mean an RV has been announced—it hasn't. But it does show that preserving the value and stability of the Iraqi Dinar remains a key priority instead of using devaluation as the first solution.

For long-term Dinar holders, many see this as an encouraging sign that Iraq continues working toward financial stability while seeking solutions that do not rely on weakening its national currency.

🙏 Stay informed. Stay patient. Every economic reform and every decision to strengthen stability helps shape Iraq's future.

🇮🇶 A stronger economy begins with confidence—and confidence begins with protecting the nation's currency.

Iraq salary delays test Central Bank’s limits

Delays in public-sector salary payments have renewed debate over whether the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) can ease mounting fiscal pressure as declining oil revenues squeeze state finances.

With last month’s salaries still unpaid and regional tensions continuing to disrupt oil exports, economists told Shafaq News the Central Bank has only limited tools to support public finances, warning that prolonged reliance on monetary measures could carry economic costs.

Economist and Iraqi University professor Abdul Rahman Al-Mashhadani explained that the CBI’s foreign reserves are designed to safeguard the economy by financing imports, supporting the exchange rate, and containing inflation —not covering budget deficits. Although the reserves remain sufficient to finance roughly one year of imports, he argued Baghdad could temporarily borrow dinars from the Central Bank to cover salaries and other monthly obligations through September. If export disruptions continue, however, sustained borrowing could increase inflationary pressures.

“If those steps fail to ease the strain, authorities may have to raise public service fees and taxes, introduce compulsory savings, or reduce salary allowances,” Al-Mashhadani cautioned. He also pointed to the CBI’s dollar auction as a major source of dinar liquidity, noting that lower oil revenues have reduced state cash inflows. “External borrowing would be a better option than drawing down reserves, allowing the Central Bank to maintain its focus on price and exchange-rate stability.”

Former CBI director Mahmoud Dagher stressed that the institution cannot directly resolve fiscal imbalances because its mandate is defined by law. He identified treasury-bill discounting as a mechanism to inject funds into the banking system while helping cover state spending, adding that changing the dinar's exchange rate should remain a last resort because of its effect on prices and household purchasing power.

Economic expert Mohammed Al-Hassani argued that the current pressure reflects shortcomings in cash-flow management rather than a shortage of resources, urging Baghdad to prioritizesalaries and pensions, defer non-essential spending, and accelerate reforms to reduce dependence on oil income. Domestic bond issuance, he noted, could provide short-term financing while long-term resilience depends on stronger coordination between fiscal and monetary policy.
