Reuters: Trump rejected an Israeli plan to assassinate Khamenei.

6/15/2025

Reuters quoted US officials on Sunday as saying that US President Donald Trump opposed an Israeli plan to assassinate Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

The agency said, "American officials reported that Trump opposed an Israeli plan to assassinate Iran's Supreme Leader in the past two days."

Reuters also quoted US officials as saying that "President Donald Trump vetoed an Israeli plan in recent days to assassinate Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei."

She added, quoting a senior US administration official: "Have the Iranians killed an American yet? No. And until they do, we won't even talk about targeting the political leadership."

The Israeli National Security Advisor also confirmed in a press statement that "there is no American veto of an Israeli request to assassinate Khamenei."

Sunday afternoon saw a significant and dangerous escalation in the conflict between Israel and Iran, with a fierce exchange of fire resulting in massive human and material losses.

Iran's Fars News Agency initially reported that the Greater Tehran Police Station had been bombed by Israel, and indicated that Israel had begun targeting civilians.

The agency said in a breaking news report: "We are facing a new and direct Israeli aggression against civilians in the capital, Tehran."

She added, "Sounds of explosions were heard in Tabriz, western Iran," noting that "Israel also targeted a residential building near Keshavarz Street in Tehran."

Reports indicated an "Israeli attack in the city of Arak."

The agency also reported: "Iranian police officers were injured at their headquarters in Tehran in a drone attack."

Israeli missiles also fell near the Iraqi embassy in Tehran, as well as on the street housing the Iranian intelligence building.

Hundreds of Iranians were also observed fleeing away from military headquarters, with video footage showing large numbers of vehicles leaving for safer cities.

Katz on the war with Iran: A hurricane is sweeping through Tehran

6/18/2025

Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz confirmed on Wednesday that Tehran is currently experiencing a hurricane sweeping across the Iranian capital.

"A hurricane is sweeping through Tehran, symbols of power are being bombed and are collapsing, and soon other targets will follow, with large numbers of people fleeing. This is how dictatorships fall," Katz said in a post on Twitter.

He added, "He must remember the fate that befell the dictator of Iran's neighbor (Iraq) who dealt in this manner against Israel."

According to The Times of Israel, Katz's comment points to a potential collapse of the Iranian regime, as strikes continue targeting key government, military, and nuclear facilities across Iran.

The Middle East is witnessing a dangerous military escalation, with Iran and Israel exchanging missile and drone attacks from dawn last Friday through Wednesday.

Despite repeated calls from the international community to halt the war between the two sides, the missile strikes continue.

 [Iraq boots-on-the-ground report]

FIREFLY:Television says we have the largest amount of foreign currency reserves and we are about to enter an economic boom.

FRANK:  IMO the currency reserves are set.  They are primed for at least $3.00 rate IMO in order to float internationally, not so much at 1 to 1 anymore.  That's the only way they have the audacity/right to say Iraq is about to enter an economic boom because even 1 to 1 is not enough for that economic boom but it sure is a good start.
