Long queues formed outside the Trade Bank of Iraq (TBI) in al-Sulaymaniyah of Iraqi Kurdistan on Tuesday as public employees rushed to complete their registration for the My Account (HISABI) system.
“We arrived early this morning after being informed that the cards were ready,” said Nour al-Din Wali, a government employee from the Garmian Administration. “Without this card, we cannot receive our May salary.”
The My Account initiative—launched under Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and supported by the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI)— allows employees to freely choose among six participating private banks to open their salary accounts and gain access to over 19 monthly banking services, including loans, transfers, and payments, for a nominal fee of 2,500 IQD ($1.9).
The project complements a parallel government initiative, the “domiciliation” system, which assigns employees to specific banks based on agreements between the Ministry of Finance, accounting units, and financial institutions.
Both programs aim to reduce cash dependency, enhance payment security, and combat corruption through improved financial transparency.
The KRG has mandated that all public employees register by May 27, in line with a Federal Supreme Court decision calling for unified salary disbursement mechanisms nationwide.

Minister Hayan Abdul-Ghani stated on Wednesday that the first solar-powered electricity generation plant in Iraq will be inaugurated by the end of 2025, stressing the ministry's commitment to implementing projects to stop the burning of associated gas and the resulting thermal emissions.
This came in a speech he delivered during the first international conference on carbon economics in Iraq, which was attended by a Shafaq News Agency correspondent in the capital, Baghdad.
In his speech, the minister said, "Iraq has realized the magnitude of the global climate challenge and the rapid economic and technological changes that are imposing themselves on the energy landscape."
He added, "Carbon emission reduction can be transformed into a real opportunity to attract financing and investment, and develop technology through carbon market mechanisms and carbon bonds." He added, "We have already taken steps in this direction, including paving the way for associated gas movement projects, achieving routine flaring by 2029, and preparing projects for carbon emission opportunities, through openness to international markets and bilateral cooperation with international partners."
Abdul Ghani also indicated that "the first solar-powered electricity generation station, with a capacity of 250 megawatts, will be inaugurated by the end of this year."
He continued, "We view carbon as an economic opportunity that can be transformed from an environmental tax into a financial economy through carbon investment, which will contribute to financing strategic projects without burdening the state's general budget. "
The Oil Minister considered that "this conference represents an important link in the chain of national efforts aimed at building a low-carbon economy, enhancing Iraq's readiness to lead the way in climate leadership mechanisms in line with our commitments to the Paris Climate Agreement, and setting our ambitions to diversify sources of income."
He explained, "Under this agreement, Iraq was committed to reducing emissions by 2% by 2023, but we, the Ministry of Oil, were able to achieve more than this percentage with the first project implemented in Basra Governorate through the implementation of the first phase."
Abdul Ghani continued, "There are projects signed by the Ministry of Oil with several companies aimed at stopping gas flaring. Through these projects being implemented, greenhouse gas emissions will be reduced by more than 23%. This is almost ten times what Iraq committed to at the Paris Conference."

things that the redemption center staff were made aware yesterday that they wanted all their staff up to speed in terms of what to expect and we are to expect when we go in for exchanges.
1) When you get to the redemption center, you will have a certain amount of biometrics - a camera taking a photo of you giving them facial recognition of who you are.
2) Everything that we say and what we do will be recorded forever.. into the QFS system. Your presentation, your voice, what you say, all will be saved and archived.
3) This goes back to setting appt, when we get the toll free number to call, we will be transferred to the redemption center, OR, we will be given the direct number for the redemption center indicated by the zip code you give.
When they confirm your time slot, either via email and/or as a phone text to your phone.
4) all of the exchanges on Dinar, Dong, and Zim are asset backed exchanges.
5) After your exchange, you will be able to have people to help with investments, and there will be project support for your projects.
You will come out as an ultra high net worth person, and you may request help.
5) You are going to receive the Quantum card, that gives access to QFS account, and will have a sovereign wallet, a virtual wallet, that is what they called the Quantum account, the QFS card gives you access to that account, to move funds from that wallet to your bank account(s).
6) Timing of this - I have final clarification of this afternoon, the emails that are to come from Wells Fargo to us with the toll free number, can start as early as 5:01 pm tomorrow, Friday.
There is a period of 28 hours that they are saying these notifications can come out anytime within the next 28 hours, starting at 5:01 PM EST Friday. That puts us to Friday night, Sat, even to Sun, ,dependent on one thing: That ALL banks around the world being fully interconnected to QfS and to Starlink.
We must have full connectivity in the first 28 hours after 5 pm tomorrow, EST.
IF we do not get it in that timeframe, putting us sometime Sat night or Sun morning, then another 28 hour time period would be put in on top the original 28 hours to get full connection, and this is being worked on right now. We may get word tomorrow or Saturday.
Monday is a USA Memorial day holiday, one redemption center leader said he may be working on Monday If we start on Sat and Sun, we could go through Monday, depending on demographics. Quite possible, a few hours that dayi.
This process will go well into June, ,we may get up to 3 to 4 weeks before redemption centers will be shut down. This is the news redemption center staff received yesterday and I am passing this on to all of you.
The fact that they put the TIMING in writing, and explained it, to the staff, tells us this is a real thing and going.
