 Iraq, KRI agree to implement Unified Pension Law No. 9

Shafaq News/ Iraq and the Kurdistan Region have reached an agreement to implement the Unified Pension Law No. (9) for 2014 concerning employee entitlements, the Kurdish Ministry of Finance and Economy announced on Monday. 

“The federal and Kurdistan Regional governments reached an agreement in a meeting held on Monday in Baghdad, outlining the mechanisms for implementing the law that regulates employee salary payments in Iraq, ensuring the rights of employees in the Region,” the ministry stated. 

The Kurdistan Regional Government began enforcing the law in July 2024, applying it similarly to the federal government, “reflecting the cooperation between the two sides in resolving this vital issue,” according to the ministry.

“This deal marks an important step toward improving employee conditions and ensuring stability in salary payments,” it added. “It is a positive move toward resolving one of the most prominent unresolved issues between both sides, paving the way for further cooperation and understanding on other economic and financial matters, thus contributing to financial and social stability in Iraq.”

 Members of Congress demand that the US government stop military aid to Iraq

The National Network revealed in a report published today, Saturday, the existence of what it described as a "campaign" launched by a number of US Congress members to urge the White House to "reconsider" its current relations with the Iraqi government, most notably security and economic cooperation.

The network said, according to what was published by some media outlets, that members of Congress led by Representative Joe Wilson are now launching a pressure campaign on the US government with several demands, the first of which is to stop the military and security assistance provided by US forces to Iraq, and intelligence cooperation, and the last of which is "imposing sanctions" on the Iraqi economy.

The campaign launched by the members of the Republican Party also demanded that armed factions and some Iraqi parties be placed on the "terrorist list" and that their political and military work inside Iraq be prevented by imposing pressure on the government of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani.

Yesterday, American media published a letter signed by some representatives, sent by US Representative Joe Wilson to Secretary of State Mark Rubio, in which he asked him to impose sanctions on Iraq and stop the work of some armed factions in the country.  LINK

 It’s possible.  But stay calm as there are a lot of moving pieces right now. There have been tons of comments from groups and contacts in Reno that have suddenly awakened. It is busier than we have seen it in years. Reno contacts are very optimistic.

More than one person told me that for a short time on the forex they saw the dinar at around one US dollar.

 I think this may be a little more testing…they have not opened it up for exchange yet….  Don’t panic…I don’t think this is the rate…but if it is I will take it and be happy...So this puts one IQD just under one US dollar.
