Article: "Great Progress has been made by Iraq in the filing of the joining of the World Trade Organization after resuming negotiations that were suspended for more than 16 years stressing this step represents a part of Iraq's vision to enhance Iraq's role in the global trading system."

They didn't do it at 1310.  Are they ever going to do that?

I don't think so... Why didn't they do it years ago

If nothing is going to change and they're going to keep it the same how are they going to pay for that

I think it's far cheaper for Iraq to bring on a real effective exchange rate to meet compliance with Article VIII of the IMF Article IV too...I think it's pretty exciting...

Al-Awadi denies accusing the regional government of obstructing the amendment of the oil export appeal article

The spokesman for the Iraqi government, Bassem Al-Awadi, denied what was stated in the statement of the spokesman for the Kurdistan Regional Government by obstructing the representative of the federal government in the House of Representatives amending the article on the procedures for resuming oil exports from the region.

The useful summary.. In the important news, you will find it on the Al-Furat News channel on Telegram. To subscribe, click here

Al-Awadi said, in a statement that {Al-Furat News} received a copy of it, that: “Based on the government’s keenness on transparency and the disclosure of citizens on the course of its executive work, especially with regard to the issue of the budget, which is a fundamental pillar for the implementation of the commitments contained in the government program,” stressing “the government’s commitment to the amendments sent to the House of Representatives regarding the budget law, which takes into account the supreme national interest.”

He stressed that “the representative of the government in the House of Representatives stressed the need to make no other amendments to the budget law that violate the texts submitted by the Council of Ministers,” denying “what was stated in the statement of the spokesman for the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq,” saying, “We are surprised by the claim that the representative of the federal government in the House of Representatives obstructed the amendment of the article on the procedures for resuming oil exports from the region.”

Al-Awadi stressed “The importance of the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq’s commitment to the provisions of the articles of the Federal Budget Law, including the delivery of financial revenues, both oil and non-oil, to the federal government, in accordance with what is stipulated in the law and the decision of the Federal Court.”

The government spokesman concluded by saying that “commitment to these measures is a necessary step to solve the problems related to this file and strengthen cooperation between the two sides, and the federal government hopes from the esteemed House of Representatives to speed up the approval of the amendment according to the text approved by the Council of Ministers, in the interest of Iraq, all of Iraq.”

The spokesman for the Kurdistan Regional Government announced on Thursday in a statement his government’s rejection of the proposal to amend the article on the resumption of the region’s oil in the federal budget submitted by the representative of the federal government in the House of Representatives.

He also accused the Iraqi House of Representatives of not approving the draft law in the form agreed at the last moments, due to the submission of the representative of the federal government in the House of Representatives a different proposal to the Council alone, without prior consultation with the Kurdistan Regional Government, and without presenting it to the Federal Council of Ministers for a vote on it, which is contrary to the decision of the previous Council of Ministers regarding the approval of the draft amendment to the law for the purpose of resuming the export of oil from the Kurdistan Region. I’ll say it

He also announced the full rejection of the Government of these procedures and proposals, while stressing the need to present the agreed draft law, approve it by the Federal Council of Ministers and vote on it.
