Baghdad - INA

President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid stressed today, Thursday, that security stability represents the cornerstone of the country's development.

The media office of the President of the Republic stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, stressed during his reception of the Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari and his accompanying delegation, at the Baghdad Palace, that security stability represents the cornerstone of development and political and economic stability in the country."

The President of the Republic pointed out that "protecting the security of citizens is a duty and a shared responsibility that requires more cooperation and coordination between security institutions and agencies."

He explained that "during the meeting, the security file and the measures taken to control the borders, confront the existing challenges in light of the developments in the region, and the efforts made by the ministry and its formations to control internal security were discussed."

He pointed out that "the Presidency of the Republic, based on its role in promoting justice and implementing the principles of the Constitution and the law, contributed to the release of approximately (15) thousand detainees whose sentences had ended," stressing "the importance of adopting human rights standards in prisons and detention centers."

The President of the Republic called for "combined efforts to reduce the spread of drugs in society, and joint work to raise awareness among all groups of their social dangers."

The Minister of Interior appreciated "the President's continuous support for the Ministry and its staff," explaining "the Ministry's efforts to develop its security plans and strategies in order to keep pace with current challenges and enhance security throughout the country."

Baghdad /NINA/ -President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid discussed with the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, Ribaz Hamlan, today, Wednesday, the federal budget for the year 2025 and its provisions.

The media department of the Presidency of the Republic said in a statement: "President Rashid received Hamlan at the Baghdad Palace, and congratulated him on the occasion of assuming his new position as Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, wishing him success in his work duties." 

The statement continued: "The meeting discussed the financial and economic aspects in the country, and the necessity of continuing the path of economic reform to ensure the provision of the best services to citizens and achieve sustainable development." 

It added: "The federal budget for the year 2025 and its provisions were discussed, and the importance of determining priorities and visions was emphasized, working to maximize resources and reduce expenses, and the necessity of developing the banking sector, and improving the performance of government and private banks, in a way that enhances economic stability." / End
