 Salaries are secured.. Finance Committee: Discussing 2025 budget schedules to begin next month

 Baghdad

The Parliamentary Finance Committee announced that it will begin discussing the 2025 budget schedules early next November.

Member of the Finance Committee, Mohammed Nouri, said in a statement to the official newspaper, followed by (Mawazine News): "The committee reiterated that employees' salaries are fully secured until the end of the current year, and there is no delay."

He added that "the committee is working through its meetings with financial specialists in the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank to address the delay in financing governorate allocations and ongoing projects, and to launch project packages in the coming few days.

" Nouri indicated that "the committee will begin discussing the 2025 budget schedules early next November, in order to ensure employees' salaries, project allocations, and other financial obligations."

This is awesome to see!  The crazy thing is, I remember in 2018-2019 this was one of those problem areas for Iraq.

  There was a lot of illegal activities, a lot of bribing going on...

 Quote "the authorities hope the revenues will reach 2 trillion by the end of this year..."  That's one hell of an increase..

PMF eliminates senior ISIS leader in northern Babil, 7 OCT

 Shafaq News/ The Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) announced, on Sunday, that they had eliminated a senior ISIS leader in a swift operation in northern Babil governorate.

According to a statement from the PMF's Jazeera Operations Command, the operation "successfully neutralized the military commander of ISIS's southern operations within the Jurf al-Nasr area, north of Babil."

Despite its territorial defeat in 2017, ISIS maintains a significant presence in Iraq through sleeper cells that engage in guerrilla warfare, assassinations, kidnappings, and extortion to destabilize the region. They blend into local populations, making them challenging to detect.

 The auctions will end or be abandoned the day the rate changes.  

The rate will change on a Sunday morning.  That's when the currency auctions will end, when the rate changes. 

 This article's saying the currency auctions will end by year end.  They're talking to US officials...They're just making a generalized statement, saying by year end...So by the end of December...the currency auctions will end meaning the rate would have to change allowing the auctions to end...

Iraq's next meeting is roughly November 6th through the 8th.  They will...have all steps complete.  

That's when they would be eligible.  Their 30 days towards membership would start right around early November...Full member probably by the end of December of this year.

Iran’s Quds Force commander Qaani missing after Israeli strikes in Beirut, 7 OCT

 Shafaq News/ Iranian Quds Force commander Esmail Qaani has been unaccounted for since Israeli airstrikes hit Beirut late last week, two senior Iranian security officials told Reuters on Sunday.

Qaani had traveled to Lebanon after Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah was killed in an Israeli airstrike last month, the officials said.

He was reportedly in Beirut’s southern suburbs, Dahiyeh, during an Israeli strike targeting senior Hezbollah official Hashem Safieddine. However, the officials clarified to Reuters that Qaani was not meeting Safieddine at the time.

“Iran and Hezbollah had not been able to contact Qaani since then,” they added.

Israel has been intensifying strikes on Hezbollah strongholds in Dahiyeh as part of its broader campaign against the Iran-backed Lebanese group. Israeli military spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Nadav Shoshani said Israel hit Hezbollah’s intelligence headquarters in Beirut late last week, but the outcome of the strike remains under assessment.

Qaani, who leads the Quds Force, an overseas branch of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, plays a critical role in Iran’s relationships with its regional militias, including Hezbollah. The uncertainty surrounding his whereabouts has raised concerns within Iranian circles.

Brigadier General Abbas Nilforoushan, another senior Iranian Revolutionary Guard commander, was killed alongside Nasrallah when an Israeli airstrike hit their bunker on Sept. 27.

Hezbollah has not commented on Safieddine’s status.
