When we were done opening the account, he asked me if there was anything else he could do for me.

 I asked, do you exchange foreign currency here at this location?

 He said yes, but they would have to order it.

 I said well, I don’t want to purchase foreign currency, I would like to exchange what I currently have for dollars. I explained to him that I have a hobby, like, people that have coin collections, I collect foreign paper currencies. 

I buy them and pick out the most novel by condition and by serial number... 12345 or 121212 or 333333 and the ones I don’t want I would like to exchange back to dollars. 

Can you do that here without sending it out? 

He thought it was interesting and that was it. He has only been with Chase for 4 months but had been with BOA for 12 years, so I understand he does not know all of the procedures.

 He asked what currency I had? 

I said Vietnamese Dong.

 He went to see someone else for info (the keypad access backroom). 

He came back and said yes, they could exchange that on-site, then went back to see if there was a waiting period after opening an account to exchange.

 No one “out back” could find any restrictions! Just give him a call to make an appointment and he will take care of me when the time comes (I’ve already put the bug in his ear).

 We said goodbye and I said look forward to doing business with you soon. I never said anything about the GCR or the RV or non forex traded currencies. And I didn’t lie or fib, just the truth. 

Then I stopped and bought a bunch of takeout Chinese food to celebrate!!

 So, now I have an account at a tier 1 bank, a relationship with a private banker who is willing to exchange my foreign currencies on-site, and has wealth advisor services….all for transferring $1600 dollars from one bank account to another!

My takeaway from this: Make an appointment to open an account if you want to get to know your banker. I did not ask this directly but I assume you need to be a customer to exchange currency.

 I think you can open a checking account with less than $1500, but they will charge a monthly fee. Chat it up with the person who is opening your account, GET TO KNOW YOUR BANKER!

Now I’m going to send my new banker a nice thank you note.

Oops, gotta go. Chinese food…..

Sudani: Receiving international events reflects the state of stability in Iraq

Today, Thursday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani expressed his appreciation for the distinguished results of Iraq in the West Asian Athletics Championships held in Basra, stressing that  the reception of international events reflects the state of stability in the country.

Al-Sudani said in a tweet on his website on the “X” platform: “Greetings to the athletics champions as they reap distinguished results in the West Asian Championship for women and men, which is hosted by Basra Governorate with the participation of several Arab and Asian countries.”

He added, "Hosting Arab and international sports events, in Baghdad, Basra, and our beloved governorates, reflects the state of stability that our country is witnessing in various fields, and enhances government support for the plans and programs that we have directed to advance the sports sector in general."

I received another message from a very strong contact, a whale, from Zurich, saying he got the same message.   

I don’t follow TNT much, but it came through on their call saying that every contact and agency says, “It is a go today.” This may be in line with what we have received from Brazil. 

Reno – I have been told, is about to kick off.  I am waiting to get a call from my source in Reno and hopefully we will get that done.  My friend Mauricio cannot say much, but all is good, and he is ready to go.   I was a bit emotional when I heard. So, by next week, everything will be looking beautiful. 

The foundations are all funded. They are ready to go. So, get ready to meet the new world. This is not a rumor, this is fact that is coming through   I am hoping and praying this is my last call and my next call will hopefully be the opera.   Have a beautiful day. Al-Sudani announces the opening of 48 electrical power transmission stations throughout Iraq

Today, Thursday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani announced the opening and operation of 200 electrical stations throughout Iraq’s regions and cities.

Al-Sudani’s media office stated in a statement that the latter opened and operated “48 electrical power transmission stations for ultra-high and high pressure, and 152 electricity distribution stations throughout all governorates of Iraq, within the first phase of a package of projects to resolve bottlenecks in electricity transmission and distribution networks in Baghdad and a number of governorates.”

My personal Chase story at 3pm Friday 5/31/24.   

 Cashed a check at Chase NorCal, not my bank.  They said it would be a 10 dollar charge, I told them no problem I'll get you back on the currency deal. 

The teller looked at me funny and said what do you mean. I said you know when Mr diamond gets back from making infrastructure deals in Iraq and he gets done setting up my funds I'll get you back. The teller still was baffled didn't know what I meant but he had to have the manager come over and clear my check.  

The manager walked over and I asked him how's Mr diamond doing over in Iraq. 

The manager was puzzled when I said that and the teller said yeah the guy said he's going to get us back with his currency.

 The manager looked at me puzzled and says what do you mean and I said, well when I can come in here and cash those things in Mr diamond is setting me up with. 

The teller looked at me not having a clue what was being talked about but the manager said to me with a big fat smile there's several of you in this town waiting for that he was smiling ear to ear he asked what I do and if I bank with them. I pointed at my company vehicle and he said, oh wow.  

I told him I'm not banking with you now but I'm pretty sure you'll be seeing me again, he said hopefully soon.
