The Securities Commission announced, today, Tuesday, that it is working to protect investors’ rights to ensure transparency, while indicating that measures are being taken to prevent manipulation of the rise in stocks.

The head of the authority, Faisal Al-Haims, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that, “Over the past 20 years, the authority has worked to protect the rights of investors, and this is the main reason for its existence,” indicating that “among what the authority has provided is to monitor the Iraqi stock market so that it operates in a transparent manner before all investors.” And that there should be no preference over one investor over another with information that may lead to an increase in stocks and investment in them.”
He added, “The Authority is currently working on the Securities Commission law sent from the Council of Ministers to the House of Representatives, and the first reading has been completed and we are awaiting the enactment of the law,” pointing out that “Enacting the law has many benefits, including increasing the volume of foreign investment for companies, which will make there a greater flow of foreign investment in Iraq Stock Exchange.

the 2024 budget schedules

Today, Tuesday, economic expert Ali Daadoush sent a message to the House of Representatives regarding the 2024 budget schedules, while stressing the need to reduce the deficit rate.

In an interview with Al-Iqtisad News, Daadoush said, “It is very important for the House of Representatives to study the financial budget schedules for the year 2024 in depth and take into account the large expenditures.”

He added, "Oil prices are expected to remain at the current ceiling, and will not fall below $75 per barrel as an average price until the end of the current year, unless political events occur that may affect oil prices."

Regarding the deficit rate, he stressed “the importance of having a careful study by the House of Representatives on the deficit in the financial budget, and trying to reduce its rate,” considering “the deficit rate is very large, and needs to be regulated and reduced, especially in light of the presence of expenses that can be dispensed with and carried over to the coming years.”

Earlier today, the Secretary of the House of Representatives confirmed the arrival of the federal budget schedules for the year 2024 from the Council of Ministers, and will be transferred to the Presidency of Parliament for reading and voting on them.

🇮🇶The Iraqi Cabinet is set to deliberate and APPROVE the budget law for this year in its upcoming session tomorrow TUESDAY. Mazhar Mohammed Saleh, Financial Advisor to the Prime Minister's office. 

Saleh indicated that the budget would be promptly forwarded to Parliament. However, "the deficit percentage in the budget is yet to be finalized."🤥🙄

The Sudanese adviser explained that "the percentage of deficit in the budget schedules is unknown, and will be determined according to the schedules that will be approved by the Council of Ministers, before sending them to the House of Representatives."

According to Law No. 13 of 2023, lists and schedules of the Tripartite General Budget Law should be submitted to the House of Representatives. 

PM Al-Sudani, Central Bank of Iraq Governor & President Barzani already HAVE the NEW DINAR RATE & are keeping the NEW RATE tight lipped & waiting until last minute (imo).
