Article:  "Postponing Electronic Application for Housing Funds

They told us they were going to build hundreds of thousands of homes.  They were going to have loans ready for them but they decided to postpone it

Quote "...until new mechanisms for getting loans is approved...'

 What's that about?

You were going to open up for loans for hundreds of thousands of housing units but you posted it for a 'mechanism'.  What's their definition of mechanism?   They don't say but we have to think - Writing up a mortgage at 1310 exchange rate and that changing the next day creates a problem...They need to know how much.

Iraq is doing a phenomenal job...Thinking that this is never going to get done?  And we have issues?

Well of course.  The Middle East has always got issues.  But are they getting better?  Yeah...Anybody and everybody that owns the Iraqi dinar...should have an idea where the Development Road Project is headed and where where their outlets are in the Mediterranean and in Europe.   It'll make you wake up.

When we say non-oil economy - Iraq's currency back in the day during Saddam Hussein was $3.22...I think everybody can agree with that...it's public information.  That was on oil only.  You didn't add in tourism...gold...reserves..natural gas...hydrogen... lithium...taxes and tariffs at the borders...Everybody that is invested in the Iraqi dinar...should know...these things to be evident and true...

We all know the progress is amazing ... Article quote:  "Central Bank Governor says, we prevented banks and companies from obtaining the dollar and the work on the electronic platform will end during the current year."  He didn't say at the end of the year.  He said it's going to end during the currency year ...The electronic platform is where you get the dollar that goes to the parallel market which is smuggled out of the country... He's going to cease that.  Could that come any time?  That very well could come at any time because tomorrow is during the current year...I believe Alaq is on a mission.

You're not going to LOP your currency.  You're just not going to do that to your currency...Elementary school math will not allow Iraq's budget at 1310 to do any of this [Investments, reforms, reconstruction projects etc.]

Iraqi PM Calls on China to address ongoing Gaza conflict

Shafaq News/ Iraq's Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani on Monday urged the major powers in the world to step forward and help address the conflict in Gaza during a meeting with the Chinese Ambassador to Iraq, Ciu Wei, on Monday.

According to a readout issued by his bureau, Prime Minister al-Sudani discussed with his guest the bilateral ties between their respective countries and the contribution of Chinese companies to the strategic development project known as the "Development Road."

"RV UPDATE" BY MARKZ, 6 FEB

 MarkZ

[via PDK]   A lot of news coming out of Iraq this weekend.   A lot of it about Iraq’s economic prowess. They are now ranked the 7th central bank in buying metals. Think about that. They are not in the G7 or the G20…but they are the 7th largest purchaser of gold bullion. This is amazing. They also point out that their oil revenues are now surpassing Saudi Arabia in exports to the US. There are a number of articles pointing out how financially secure is Iraq. To me this is a precursor to a change of value in their currency.

...coming out of Iraq:  “Contract signed for new residential city near Baghdad”   Will include more than 100,000 units. They are busy working on housing for their people. This is a large scale project worth big bucks…. How are they going to pay for it???

Iraq's PM rejects "unilateral actions" during meeting with Iranian official

Shafaq News/ Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia Al-Sudani met on Monday the Secretary-General of the Iranian Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), Ali Akbar Ahmadian, in Baghdad.

According to Al-Sudani's media office, the prime minister emphasized Iraq's "rejection of any actions that contradict international principles founded on mutual respect for sovereignty."

His position came as a confirmation of previous statements by Iraqi authorities after the Iranian Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) launched ballistic missiles at what they claimed was a base for the Israeli spy service Mossad in Erbil, northern Iraq. The attack had killed four civilians and injured six others.

During the meeting with Ahmadian, Al-Sudani highlighted, "While Iraq is dedicated to establishing positive relations with neighboring and global nations, it remains vigilant and steadfast in protecting its sovereignty and security."

"Iraq has consistently demonstrated its commitment to the principle of good neighborliness and developing strong relationships with regional and global partners. However, such efforts would not come at the expense of Iraq's sovereignty and security." The statement said.

In turn, the top Iranian official emphasized Tehran's commitment to working under the joint security agreement between Iraq and Iran to ensure the safety of both neighboring nations
