The media advisor to the Prime Minister, Hisham al-Rikabi, confirmed Thursday, that the international coalition forces will leave all their headquarters after the decision to withdraw is taken, indicating that the Iraqi forces will work to strengthen their positions after their departure.

Al-Rikabi said in a televised interview, “There are technical teams between Baghdad and Washington to begin the process of removing the American forces in regular ways,” indicating that the Iraqi forces have received many headquarters of foreign forces and will receive the rest after the departure of the American forces is scheduled, and they are capable of maintaining security and stability in the country.

He added, “The relationship with America and the rest of the countries is built on the basis of joint cooperation and the country’s interest,” noting that “Iraq differs from before 2003 in its good relations with all countries of the world and the international community.”

Al-Rikabi explained that “there is no problem in maintaining Iraq’s international status after removing American forces from the country.”

He stressed that “the final decision for the withdrawal of American forces rests with the formed technical committees and the government’s position,” pointing out that Al-Sudani affirmed the ability of the Iraqi forces and the PMF to confront any possible attack or security threat.
