๐ฎ๐ถ๐ต๐ฅ IRAQ’S CURRENCY REPRINT — WHAT HAPPENS TO OLD NOTES?
Sandy Ingram raises an important question about Iraq’s potential currency reprint:
๐จ️ If Iraq introduces new banknotes, how will people outside Iraq exchange their existing 3-zero notes for the new currency?
๐ This is a key issue for international dinar holders. Any transition involving redesigned or lower-denomination notes would need to clarify exchange procedures, deadlines, locations, and how foreign-held banknotes would be handled.
๐ป๐ช Ingram also points to Venezuela as a contrasting example, noting that despite improvements in oil production, inflation and economic challenges continue to make the bolรญvar a high-risk currency.
๐ For Iraq, the real question isn't simply whether new notes are printed—it’s how the transition from old to new currency would work for holders both inside and outside the country.
