CBI made an announcement about notes
“ In recent years, this bank has noticed the circulation of foreign banknotes of some countries, some of which are real and traded, and some of which are withdrawn from circulation in addition to some fake foreign papers.
Such papers are used by some weak souls from outlaws for the purpose of defrauding citizens by luring them to replace them with the Iraqi dinar with much more than their real value, using pretexts and claims that replacing them constitutes great gains for them and rare opportunities for investment.
Therefore, the Central Bank of Iraq calls on the generous public and the specialized security and regulatory authorities to follow up on these matters and not to deal with those banknotes and to focus on Iraqi banknotes and those with which the Central Bank of Iraq and the banking system deals to avoid falling into the outlaws”
