Al-Moayad meets a high-level delegation from the US Agency for Global Media

The head of the Media and Communications Commission, Ali Al-Muayyad, met today, Thursday, with a high-level delegation from the US Agency for Global Media, USAGM, on the sidelines of Iraq’s participation in the work of the World Bank Digital Summit 2024.

During the meeting, Al-Muayyad stressed: “The importance of strengthening frameworks of mutual understanding in the media fields and the importance of cooperation with the Iraqi government in conveying the true picture of the country,” noting “the important role played by the Iraqi media in promoting integrity, state sovereignty, and the law.”

A statement by the Commission, a copy of which {Al-Furat News} received, said: “The meeting was held at the headquarters of the Iraqi Embassy in Washington and touched on the necessity of exchanging experiences and media visits between the institutions of the two countries and benefiting from the unique experiences undertaken by these institutions.”

It is noteworthy that the meeting was attended by the agency’s legal director, “David Kligerman,” its general counsel, “Royce Main,” the acting director of the Voice of America, “John Liebman,” the director of financial operations, “Trina Mixon,” and the agency’s senior advisor, “Jeremy Gross,” in addition to the acting director. Ken Clairbaut, Director of the Broadcast Technologies Department.

It is noteworthy that the US Agency for Global Media (USGM) is an official organization affiliated with the US administration and is responsible for various state-run media outlets.
