After last Thursday’s holiday approved by the Council of Ministers and the Iraqi National Day, which coincided with October 3, Iraqis are awaiting a new holiday that lasts for 4 consecutive days.
The Iraqi government decided to suspend official working hours after imposing a ban on roaming on November 20 and 21 in all regions and cities of the country to conduct the population census.
These two days fall on Wednesday and Thursday in addition to Friday and Saturday, the total holiday will be 4 days.
The law on public holidays, which was voted on by the House of Representatives and approved by the President of the Republic, included that “the Council of Ministers has the right to disrupt official working hours for special occasions, provided that it does not exceed 7 days a year.
