Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani congratulated, on Tuesday, the Arab Tourism Organization’s selection of the beloved capital, Baghdad, the city of civilization, history and culture, to be the Arab Tourism Capital for the year 2025.

The Prime Minister said in a tweet on "X", followed by "Economy News", that "we congratulate all Iraqis on the Arab Tourism Organization's selection of our beloved capital, Baghdad, the city of civilization, history and culture, to be the capital of Arab tourism for the year 2025."

He added: "We extend our thanks to everyone who contributed to this selection, as we confirm our continuation of the programs and projects that our government launched, since the beginning of its executive duties, to raise the level of services, and modernize the infrastructure in the capital, to be at a level befitting it and Iraq."

He continued: "This would not have been achieved without the great sacrifices of the Iraqis, and the great victory over terrorism that resulted in security and societal stability, which we invested in improving Iraq's external image, and openness in relations within the approach of productive diplomacy that represented a pivotal point for our government in its international relations."

MP for the Al-Fatah parliamentary bloc, Walid Al-Sahlani, confirmed today, Tuesday, that political differences still exist regarding controversial laws.

Al-Sahlani told Al-Maalouma Agency, "All controversial laws within the House of Representatives need political consensus and in-depth discussions in order to pass them."

He added, "It is difficult to pass controversial laws in one basket, given the differences over some laws, including the general amnesty law." 

He pointed out that "there is a difference regarding the amnesty and real estate laws, in addition to some observations regarding the personal status law," stressing that "the controversial laws will be postponed to the next legislative session in order to allow more time to reach political understandings."

Last night 

John, I don't know TNT's information, but I can tell you that several contacts were contacted to renegotiate rate change contracts today. So that's been an ongoing thing. 

I have a phenomenal, phenomenal source. A contractor there. Someone I've worked with on other projects around the world who is a contractor there and that's where you get a lot of the information from.

But I haven't received any update from him. 

I was traveling to Australia. So I don't have much information about it, but I'm trying to get one directly from my personal friends that I can call on the phone and tell him.

But we found out that they have called the contractors as of this morning, I'm talking about dawn as soon as the sun came up and the day had begun.

Which for me is great news.

The Dinar was revalued in the country and the contracts have a different price and that is why they have to be renegotiated. 👍👏

Shafaq News/ On Monday, the Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, declared that terrorism no longer has a foothold in Iraq.

dding: 0px; text-align: justify;">During his speech in Victory Day anniversary, commemorating seven years since Iraq's defeat of ISIS, Al-Sudani praised the sacrifices of the nation, stating, “This victory, achieved through the sacrifices of our martyrs and wounded, supported by the fatwa of the Supreme Religious Authority, is a source of pride for all Iraqis.”

He highlighted Iraq's role in combating terrorism on behalf of the world, adding, “Our allies stood with us in this fight because Iraqis were battling a threat that endangered the entire region and the globe. Today, terrorism has no place in Iraq, and its remnants face only defeat and flight before our armed forces.”

The PM further stressed the importance of addressing the root causes of the 2014 ISIS invasion, pledging to strengthen the rule of law, rebuild liberated areas, and support displaced communities. Iraq has emerged stronger, victorious, and resolute in its pursuit of reconstruction and development, he said.

Commenting on the ongoing crisis in neighboring Syria, Al-Sudani urged the international community to act responsibly, stating, “We hope that the region and the world will act responsibly to safeguard Syria’s security and sovereignty. The Syrian people must have the freedom to determine their future, and the international community must ensure the unity of Syrian territory and protect its diversity.”
