Following the conclusion of the Eid Al-Fitr vacation, Representative Hadi Al-Salami said on Friday that efforts are underway to settle the Speaker of the House of Representatives position.

“Deciding on the Speaker of the House of Representatives position without political consensus is not possible, and this is what is happening now through a series of meetings that push this option by adopting a road map to vote on a candidate for this important position,” stated Al-Salami in an interview.

“The movement has escalated recently,” he continued, “especially with the existence of priority consensuses on the mechanisms for resolution through putting forward a consensual candidate.” It is anticipated that the matter will be brought before the House of Representatives following the conclusion of the Eid al-Fitr holiday.

He made the argument that “passing significant legislation and fulfilling a constitutional entitlement requires resolving the Speaker of the House of Representatives position.”

After cases were filed with the Federal Court, disagreements between various political factions hindered the selection of a speaker for the House of Representatives many months ago.

The next big step in this is we want to see when Iraq will be amending their budget...They can amend it before or after the rate changes...

This weekend coming up would be the historical anniversary date of when Kuwait reinstated their currency - March 24, 1991

Iraq technically does not need to amend the budget if they're not changing their rate.

The budget already covers their operating expenses. But they would need surplus funds to cover the reforms. The reforms are contingent upon the rate changing. They can't bring these reform package forward if the rate does not change. The only reason they're amending the budget is because the rate is changing...The step of amending the budget can happen either before or after the rate changes ... They will probably announce Thursday or Friday as to when they plan to amend the budget, which they'll probably do around this weekend...

They are going to amend the budget with or without a rate change. ...Does it make sense for you to release the budget before they increase the exchange rate because then you have to turn around and redo the budget and make all the changes to the budget using the new exchange rate.

So no, it doesn't make sense to release the budget before you change the exchange rate. You would change the exchange rate then go through and amend all of your budget because the money you've allocated obviously has changed...

The suspension of the funds has to do with corruption. The reforms can be activated without changing the rate. They're going to reallocate revenue from oil to help fund all these reforms..

The DFI funds / funding having been the legal basis for depositing oil revenues in the new "IRAQ2" account with the Federal Reserve Bank in New York, "is the expiration of EO 13303", which granted Iraq the ability for her funds to be deposited in an account to be protected with legal authority, and to be where they are now.

Bottom line is Iraq has about $16 to $17 trillion worth of product in the ground that they know of and they're going to go after it...

Remember when you say Iraq was paying for all of their major construction at 1310 you'll see...payments were able to disperse out of the DFI fund..

.Food, currency exchange programs, electricity, oil infrastructure programs, equipment for Iraqis, equipment for security forces, civil services, salaries, Ministry of budget operations - that's a broad spectrum...They had a lot of things that they could tap into that oil money revenue stream dollars [DFI}. It wasn't in dinars. Things have changed now...They have a time crunch...Since the DFI has gone into the Iraqi2 Fund you're going to see big changes I'm excited to see...
