Sudanese personalizes notes on US sanctions: We will not abandon private banking sector

Economy News – Baghdad

Prime Minister Mohammed Shiaa Al-Sudani confirmed the existence of observations on US Treasury sanctions on Iraqi banks, while noting the government’s continued support for the private banking sector.

Al-Sudani said, in a press conference, followed by “Economy News”, that “the government has made an important way by making Iraq’s trade clear despite the challenges that appear from time to time,” adding: “All our trade passes today through the electronic platform and through the audit of (K2), that is, there are notaries of financial transfer operations.”

He added, “What decisions come from the US Treasury on Iraqi banks, which we have more than one observation on, are decisions related to observations on the performance of banks in previous governments, not the current government.”

The Prime Minister stressed that “transactions and financial transfers for Iraqi trade, during the current period, pass through a clear electronic platform, in front of financial institutions, so this process has gained reliability.”

Al-Sudani explained that “the government continues to support the private banking sector, and it cannot be abandoned, and we are working to address all the observations in its performance, and we are doing it to be a partner with us for the desired development process in the country.”

...just today another article came out from the CBI telling us about yet more steps in the RV/Reinstatement process are about to be implemented...new developments...push us even closer to the RV/Reinstatement...The news could not get any better, aside from having the reinstatement itself.

I will tell everyone who has been in this speculative investment for a long time, this couldn’t be a worst time to sell your dinar.  I compare it to a severe storm. You must have the guts to weather the storm... when the storm finally does really end, it’s over and done and then you move on to a better life knowing you weathered the storm and received the blessings that come afterwards. The rewards are great.

Barzani: We will abide by any decision taken by Baghdad regarding the presence of the international coalition, 22 FEB

Barzani: We will abide by any decision taken by Baghdad regarding the presence of the international coalition

The President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, confirmed the commitment to any decision taken by Iraq regarding the presence of the international coalition forces.

Barzani said, in a television interview, that the coalition forces came with a request from the Iraqi government to confront ISIS, and it has been a long time since their coming, so it is normal to negotiate again to determine the form of the future relationship between the coalition and Baghdad, and on this basis, the decision is made how future relations will be.
“However, ISIS remains a large threat to Iraq,” he added, noting that “the reason is because the ISIS issue is related to the stability of Syria, not just Iraq.”
“We are not isolating the Kurdistan region from Iraq,” the president of the Kurdistan region, on whether Kurdistan will turn into an alternative geography to Iraq for US bases.
“According to our policy, any decision that will be made will be within the framework of the Iraqi geography,” Barzani said, and the Kurdistan region as part of Iraq will abide by the decision taken by Iraq in general.

Last week, Iraqi authorities announced the resumption of negotiations with Washington on the future of the international coalition to combat ISIS, stressing that they will be carried out “periodically” with the aim of completing them “as soon as possible.”
Baghdad and Washington launched these talks late last month, as part of a joint “super military committee,” but were suspended on the same 28th by a drone attack that killed 3 U.S. soldiers in Jordan on the border with Syria.

“The justifications for the existence of the international coalition that were in 2014 are over and there is no need for the coalition presence on Iraqi soil,” Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani said yesterday.
