FIREFLY: Television is showing the CBI governor and team is meeting with the United States of America Treasury Department about the Iraq banks saying it's about the rehabilitation of these banks to the United States Treasury regulations. Talking about those banks are needed for the reform to maximize.
FRANK: Didn't I tell you these 28 banks are the key part of the reinstatement? But that would be internally. Externally that's like Aki [Walkingstick's banking friend in the U.S.] and the private banks.
Mawazine News – Baghdad The leader of the Taqaddam Party, Ammar Al-Jumaili, on Thursday described the withdrawal of the party’s candidate, Shaalan Al-Karim, from competing for the presidency of Parliament as conclusive evidence of Muhammad Al-Halbousi’s innocence of the charges against him. Al-Jumaili said in a televised interview followed by Mawazine News, “Shaalan Al-Karim became a stumbling block to political understandings after the strong objection to him assuming the presidency of Parliament, so he withdrew.” He added, “Al-Karim was subjected to great pressure during the past days, which prompted him to resign from the Taqadum Party and continue as an independent representative until the next parliamentary elections are held.”
He explained, “The Taqaddum Party has a constitutional entitlement as the Sunni party that won the elections, so one of the candidates will be renamed.” Al-Jumaili pointed out that “Al-Karim’s resignation from the nomination and the party took place without any pressure, and it is conclusive evidence that Al-Halbousi did not threaten any leader or politician in his party, which brings Al-Halbousi back to Parliament and then to the presidency of Parliament.”
[via PDK] I continue to hear rumors of the different spots that Sudani has visited. I am hearing there was a clandestine meeting with a signatory of seven of the banking families from China. Hang tight guys as we sort this over the next day or two and figure out what is hopeful rumor and what is fact. But things are very positive.
..I am happy where we are right now. The only thing that would make me happier is us exchanging.
Question: Is it true people have started to get notifications?
MarkZ: ...most of my sources have gag orders right now. Some have actual NDA’s, and some of them are being leaned on by leadership to not say anything.
Especially with groups. With so many people being leaned on to stay quiet - I think this is fantastic news. With some contacts I am going straight to voicemail which means their equipment is turned off. To me this is an excellent sign. So it appears we are close to the finish line...my Iraqi sources seem to think so.
