Parliamentary Finance: The US Federal Reserve besieges the Iraqi citizen with dollars
Information / Baghdad.. On Thursday, a member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Moeen Al-Kadhimi, accused the United States of America of exercising blackmail and pressure towards Iraq by creating a dollar crisis.
Al-Kadhimi said in an interview with the Maalouma Agency, “The American measures taken by the Federal Bank were the main reason behind the continued rise of the dollar against the Iraqi dinar.” He added, “Washington is still exercising its conditions on Iraq to put pressure on the parallel market,” noting that “the US Federal Reserve sets strict conditions on merchants importing goods from neighboring countries.” He pointed out that “the Iraqi citizen is a victim of the arbitrary measures of the United States of America,” noting that “the Iraqi economy relies heavily on foreign imports to cover the total demand for goods.” Former MP Raed Fahmy had previously confirmed to Al-Maalouma that the political reason was related to the US Federal Reserve’s strict measures for political purposes in order to put pressure on the Iraqi side.
FIREFLY: Television is showing Parliament Finance committee saying weare close to closing the parallel market and solving the dollar exchange rate. FRANK: How many ways can they tell them?
FIREFLY: Channel One TV is saying we just overtook and stopped the most dangerous and most corrupt organization that has ever stolen dinars. They stole over 1 trillion dinar...individuals arrested and groups have been stopped.
FRANK: The money was recovered...This is the phase of the monetary reform right now, to recover this type of money, to be in position to float internationally...
FIREFLY: TV showing the meeting in Davos with CBI governor, IMF, World Bank and Sudani have shortened the time on financial and banking reform. They're saying it's a shorter time expected now to complete the reforms .
FRANK: He is telling you they are very very close to giving you the new exchange rate with the lower denoms ...What happened at Davos put the monetary reform on light speed.
FIREFLY: On the economic news an economic specialist is saying Iraq needs to use a basket of currencies to add value to the dinar against the dollar.
FRANK: Sudani sends out another expert in the financial field that you know and trust...Exactly what we've been telling you. This is the next phase IOO... This is the most powerful part of the monetary reform education to you as an Iraqi citizen...The basket of currencies is required in order to add value to the Iraqi dinar.
They will never talk to you about something that needs to be done. They will talk to you about it after it is done. That is what is called the float and that is what is going to take you back to your RI. Your currency rate has to be reinstated back to $3.22 but that's the international side of Iraq...
The goal of the CBI is to reach the Real Effective Exchange Rate. In doing so it adds value to you even thought it's 1 to 1 in country...It will stay at 1 to 1 to the American dollar in Iraq but you will finally have your purchasing power that you have long waited for.
Kurdistan Agriculture agrees with Baghdad to build four strategic dams, 26 JAN
Shafaq News/ The Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources of the Kurdistan Regional Government announced, today, Thursday, the agreement with the federal government to build four strategic dams.
The Minister of Agriculture, Begurd Talabani, said in a press conference attended by Shafaq News Agency, that the ministry has reached an agreement with the federal government, and the construction of the four dams will begin during the current year.
She added that the regional government, despite the crises it suffered from, was able to build eight medium-sized dams, stressing that the process of storing water will continue by constructing dams and regulators.
It is noteworthy that there are 23 dams throughout the Kurdistan Region targeting the production of electrical energy, irrigation, tourism, and many other areas that benefit from dams.
These steps come within the framework of the efforts of the ninth formation of the Kurdistan Regional Government to conserve water and prevent the effects of drought.
What happens when there is a demand for a specific supply?
It runs out quickly. Or it goes up in value quickly. The simplest thing, toilet paper, became so valuable when the covid hit us...If I was Sudani I'd give the lower denoms and the new exchange rate and instantly the dinar goes into a basket with other currencies around the world to float. The definition of supply and demand is going to take that float to the REER (Real Effective Exchange Rate). How are they going to reach the REER? By supply and demand.
It was a paradigm shift is what happened in Davos...INVESTORS AT DAVOS = AN ACCELERATION OF SUPPLY & DEMAND TO THE IQD IN AN INTERNATIONAL FLOAT = VALUE ADDED TO THE IQD BASKET!
Question: "Does it RI once it goes international?" That's the reason why it would go international because it would be a rate change, it would be equivalent to a reinstatement to the value of the currency.
THE SAFE ENVIRONMENT IS NO LONGER SO.” TO WHAT EXTENT HAS ERBIL’S TOURISM AND ECONOMY BEEN AFFECTED BY THE IRANIAN BOMBING?
The expert in economic and tourism affairs, Sirwan Ibrahim, confirmed today, Monday (January 22, 2024), that Erbil has been, during the past period, a stop for tourists and businessmen from countries around the world who want to establish projects in Iraq and make Erbil their headquarters and depart from there to other governorates.
Ibrahim told “Baghdad Today” that “Erbil was a station for holding seminars, workshops, and courses for international organizations,” noting that “all of these matters contribute to reviving the tourism sector, as they use hotels, restaurants, markets, and the city’s airport.”
While he noted, “If this conflict continues, it will decline further because tourists will search for other alternatives, in addition to the bad economic situation that the city in particular and the region in general is going through.”
Ibrahim pointed out that “a citizen who visits a city for tourism, the first thing he asks about is security stability, because he does not want anything to confuse his tourist trip, but with the continued bombing operations with marches and missiles, the percentage of tourism in Erbil has declined.”
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani confirmed today, Monday (January 22, 2024), that targeting the Mossad headquarters in Erbil came to punish those who aggressed against Iran’s security and was not an act against Iraq.
Kanaani said in a press conference followed by “Baghdad Today” that “the concentration and gathering of Zionist elements and Mossad elements to work against Iranian national security in the Kurdistan region of Iraq is unacceptable.”
He stressed, “In recent years, there have been threats to our national security from the Kurdistan region of Iraq,” adding, “Our security is a red line.”
Kanaani continued, “Iranian-Iraqi relations are strong and solid, and the two countries enjoy comprehensive cooperation in various fields,” stressing that “our relations with Iraq are strong and Iran is the greatest defender of Iraq’s independence and sovereignty.”
On January 16, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard launched a violent bombardment with ballistic missiles targeting civilian areas in Erbil, which led to 10 civilians being killed or wounded.
The Kurdistan Region Security Council considered the missile bombardment a blatant violation of the sovereignty of the region and all of Iraq.
