Baghdad / NINA / Oil prices fell in early Asian transactions today, Monday, for the second session in a row, affected by the rise of the dollar after renewed fears of the continuation of high interest rates for a longer period and the lack of risk appetite among investors.

By dawn today, Brent crude futures fell 40 cents, or 0.5%, to $84.84 per barrel, after falling 0.6% upon settlement on Friday. West Texas Intermediate crude futures also fell 39 cents, or 0.5%, to $80.34 per barrel.  The rise of the dollar raises the cost of purchasing oil denominated in the US currency for holders of other currencies.

But crude contracts rose by about 3% last week due to indications of increased demand for oil products in the United States, the world's largest consumer, as well as the continued implementation of production cuts in the OPEC+ group.

Oil prices received support from geopolitical risks in the Middle East due to the war in the Gaza Strip, as well as the intensification of Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian oil refineries.

Iraqi Central Bank chairman said that the deletion of three zeros from the Iraqi dinar will help in flourishing once again the Iraqi economy and the return of the Iraqi currency traded in international stock markets, the deletion of zeros restore Iraqi currency mind in periods of monetary turmoil and declining public revenues of the state at a time when the expenses increase, resort states often to print more of the local currency, leading to price hikes and the occurrence of high inflation, the need to cross categories with high currencies such as the one thousand and one million one hundred thousand … etc., and with every raise in the denomination as the economy enters the furnace of inflation.

Why delete the three zeroes from the Iraqi dinar

The aim of deleting three zeros from the currency of Iraq is one of the means to control the high inflation is monetary reform, coupled with a change in monetary policy by the old currency high Pfiadtha replacement of a new currency with lower categories so prices tend to decline, but does he have on inflation? The Ministerial Council for the Economy approved, on Monday, the national lending strategy, while decided to hold a special session of the Council, in the Kurdistan region, to solve all outstanding economic problems.
This came during a meeting held under the chairmanship of Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, the 18th session of the Ministerial Council for the Economy, in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister of Planning, the Ministers of Finance, Trade, Agriculture, Industry, Labor and Social Affairs, the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, the advisers to the Prime Minister for Economic and Legal Affairs, the Chairman of the Securities Commission, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil.

The Council discussed, according to a statement received by the Mawazine News Agency, the paragraphs on its agenda and took the necessary decisions on them, and approved the request of the Ministry of Transport to refer the project of extending a railway between the city of Basra and the Shalamja port as far as it is related to the financial powers.

The Council approved the national lending strategy after the Governor of the Central Bank presented a summary of the strategy and what the bank implemented during the previous lending initiatives, and also decided to hold a special session to discuss all opinions, ideas and proposals for maximizing the state’s non-oil revenues.

The Council approved, according to the statement, that the General Company (Or) affiliated with the Ministry of Industry will purchase the damaged and damaged wires from the Ministry of Electricity and its formations in all for a price to be agreed between the two parties.
The Council reviewed the technical report prepared by the Ministry of Commerce on the reality and work of the civil mills, and decided to support the ministry’s measures to improve the quality of flour production provided to citizens as well as approve the transfer of ownership of the mills.
The Council also agreed to cancel the withdrawal of work from the company implementing the contract of Thahir (16) a spherical tank to reach the completion rates to final stages, and the Council decided at the request of the Ministry of Agriculture to open the import of winter crops (halana, carnabablo, lettuce, slgum and shunder).

Member: Guess nothing happened on the 23rd….Another date bites the dust. 

Member: I wonder what happened to the banking crash on the 23rd?

MZ: I don’t know. What did happen is the question. There were great rumors for the weekend and its Monday Morning ….We have not been able to check yet-what was rumor or what is factual. 

MZ: If they changed the system on the 23rd- we should find out somewhere in the first day or two if this week .We are not going to get an immediate affect ….but should see it play out this week. 

MZ: I honestly don’t feel it is worth hashing out the rumors until we can prove or disprove them today. 

MZ: We should find out today if the rumors of the 1% payout for historic bond folks is accurate or not. 

MZ: We heard there was a lot of movement with ATM’s in Iraq. But so far this morning it is unsubstantiated. 

Member: I wonder -does the movie have to play out or are we waiting for Gold backed money?

Member: If all Countries are going Gold backed, we have to go very soon or we can't do business with them!  IMO

MZ: The rumors are flying. Now we have to find out if they are real. 

Member: Do we know for sure if we will be taxed at our exchange or not?

MZ: We do not know for sure. Its best to plan on being taxed and hope you are not. I do not think we are going to be taxed. Most of my sources say we will not….but I am prepared if they are wrong. 

Member: Capital gains tax in Canada is 66% … no taxes please

Member: At this point I would gladly pay the tax if it would just gooooooooooooo

Member: So no budget published yet?

MZ: It was still not in the Gazette as of last Saturday 

Ariel on X is saying the dinar is getting ready to RV and MMan answered saying “we are in great shape”

MZ: I think it is well within the realm of possibility.
