🇮🇶 Iraq Political Update: New President Elected, 15-Day Deadline to Nominate Prime Minister

There is a new president in Iraq 🇮🇶.

However, there is now a 15-day window to nominate a Prime Minister 😬. Let us hope the CBI does not become concerned… 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

According to the Iraqi Constitution, the newly elected president (chosen by Parliament) must, within 15 days, appoint the nominee of the largest parliamentary bloc to attempt to form a government. That nominee then has 30 days to present a cabinet for a vote of confidence.

Therefore, the election of the president officially triggers the step of naming the Prime Minister-designate and begins the timeline for forming the new government.

Sin embargo: así que tienen 15 días para nominar a un Primer Ministro... Oremos para que la CBI no se preocupe... Según la constitución de Irak, el presidente recién elegido (elegido por el parlamento) debe, dentro de los 15 días, nombrar al candidato del bloque parlamentario más grande para intentar formar un gobierno; ese candidato luego tiene 30 días para presentar un gabinete para una votación de confianza. Por lo tanto, la elección del presidente desencadena el paso formal de nombrar al designado como Primer Ministro e inicia el cronograma de formación del gobierno.
