๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ถ THE MESSAGE FROM WASHINGTON IS GETTING LOUDER

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ถ THE MESSAGE FROM WASHINGTON IS GETTING LOUDER

What I find interesting is how we keep seeing very similar headlines repeated over the past few days.

This latest report is now roughly the third piece of news pointing in the same direction:

๐Ÿ‘‰ The United States is reaffirming its support for Iraq’s government.
๐Ÿ‘‰ Washington is backing efforts to strengthen Iraqi sovereignty.
๐Ÿ‘‰ The U.S. continues emphasizing that weapons must ultimately be under state control.
๐Ÿ‘‰ And Washington is making it clear that it remains closely engaged with what happens inside Iraq.

And here is the part that catches my attention. ๐Ÿ‘€

The coalition mission may be moving toward its September 30 transition, but the messaging coming from Washington seems to be saying:

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ “We may be changing the way we operate in Iraq… but we are not disappearing.”

That distinction matters.

Leaving a military mission does not necessarily mean leaving Iraq strategically.

The United States can continue its involvement through diplomacy, economic relationships, security cooperation, financial channels, intelligence coordination and political engagement.

So when we repeatedly see Washington publicly reaffirming support for the Iraqi government, I think the important thing is not just one individual headline.

It is the pattern of messaging.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ “We support Iraqi sovereignty.”

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ “We support the government.”

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ “We want attacks from Iraqi territory prevented.”

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ “Weapons should ultimately be under state authority.”

And now again:

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Washington is reaffirming its support for Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi.

Whether you agree with every aspect of the policy or not, the repeated message is difficult to ignore.

The September 30 transition therefore deserves close attention. ๐Ÿ‘€

Because the question may not simply be:

“Is the U.S. leaving Iraq?”

It may be:

“What does continued U.S. involvement in Iraq look like after September 30?”

That is a very different question.

And with multiple reports now emphasizing similar themes, I will be watching the next few weeks very closely. ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ถ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

The headlines may be different.

But the message coming from Washington appears increasingly consistent:

The U.S. may be changing its presence in Iraq — but it continues to signal that it intends to remain engaged.

๐Ÿ“Š Watch the actions, not just the headlines.

US reaffirms support for Al-Zaidi over Iraqi factions

Shafaq News- Washington

The United States supports Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi's efforts to "enforce and exercise Iraqi sovereignty" as Iraq takes a new direction under his leadership, a US State Department spokesperson told Shafaq News.

Washington strongly backs the prime minister's vision of a "brighter future for all Iraqis free from terrorism" and of preventing attacks in and from Iraqi territory, he said.

The spokesperson declined to say whether the department is considering financial and economic sanctions on Iraqi entities and individuals if the government fails to bring weapons under state control.
