๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ถ NEWS SUMMARY — ERBIL & BAGHDAD

Recent high-level financial talks between Erbil and Baghdad are being described as productive, with several important issues reportedly moving forward. ๐Ÿค

๐Ÿ’ฐ Public sector salaries remain the top priority, with Erbil pushing to keep payments protected from political disputes.

๐Ÿ›ข️ Oil is becoming a point of cooperation rather than conflict, with around 180,000 barrels per day from the Kurdistan Region currently being exported.

๐Ÿฆ The Kurdistan Region also says it contributes approximately 5–6 trillion IQD to Iraq’s general treasury.

Other key requests included:

๐Ÿช– Federal recognition of the Peshmerga budget as part of sovereign expenditures

๐Ÿ‘ท A share of public-sector employment allocations
๐Ÿ’ต Access to the Kurdistan Region’s share of national and international loans

๐Ÿ“ฆ Continued use of the ASYCUDA customs system
⛽ New discussions regarding kerosene

๐Ÿ”Ž ANALYSIS

This could represent a significant change in the financial relationship between Baghdad and Erbil.

The most important development may be the shift in the oil relationship. What was once one of the biggest sources of political tension is now being described as a common ground for cooperation. ๐Ÿ›ข️๐Ÿค

If these understandings translate into formal agreements and actual implementation, they could contribute to greater financial stability, institutional coordination and economic integration across Iraq. ๐Ÿ“ˆ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ถ

⚠️ Important: These are reported negotiation outcomes and proposals. The real impact will depend on what Baghdad and Erbil formally approve and implement.

๐Ÿ‘€ The next phase is implementation.
