The Popular Mobilization Commission announced on Wednesday that it had carried out a search operation and seized weapons south of Kirkuk.

In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the Commission stated that "a force from the 16th Brigade part of the PMF’s North and East Tigris Operations Command conducted a search and raid operation in the village of Al-Abada, south of Kirkuk Governorate, which resulted in the discovery of several weapons."
The statement added that "the seized weapons have been handed over to the relevant authorities in accordance with established official procedures, as part of the security duties carried out by the Popular Mobilization Forces within their designated area of responsibility."
