The President of the Republic Reaffirms the Importance of Leveraging the Digital Economy and E-Governance to Support Administrative Reform

President Nizar Amidi emphasized on Tuesday the importance of leveraging the digital economy and e-governance to support administrative reform and improve the performance of state institutions.
The media office of the Presidency of the Republic reported in a statement that “President Nizar Amidi received Muhammad Sahib Al-Daraji, Minister of Digital Economy and Governance, at the Peace Palace in Baghdad.”
The statement added that “at the beginning of the meeting, the President congratulated the Minister on assuming his new position and wished him success and good fortune in carrying out his duties.”
According to the statement, the President stressed “the need to support the efforts of the new ministry in consolidating the principles of governance and transparency, simplifying administrative procedures, and expanding the adoption of electronic systems within state institutions. These efforts aim to improve the efficiency of government performance and keep pace with rapid technological advancements.”
Amidi highlighted “the importance of utilizing Iraqi expertise in scientific research and the digital economy and leveraging it to achieve the country's strategic objectives and support administrative and institutional reforms, in a manner that serves the national development process and keeps pace with the requirements of the current stage.”
He added that “the Minister, in turn, reviewed the most prominent initiatives and future plans related to developing the digital economy and improving e-governance, emphasizing the importance of coordination and cooperation among state institutions to achieve the desired objectives in this field.”
