🇮🇶 IRAQ SECURITY UPDATE
⚠️ An Iraqi official claims that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) has developed new operational methods in Iraq.
🔫 The official also alleges that defectors from Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq seized around half of the group’s weapons arsenal and used them to establish a new militia.
🛡️ If confirmed, the development highlights the complexity of Iraq’s efforts to bring all weapons under state control. The challenge is not only disarming existing groups, but also preventing weapons and personnel from being redirected into newly formed armed factions.
🔐 Iraq’s broader security process therefore involves negotiations, weapons transfers, militia restructuring, and strengthening the authority of state security institutions.
🇮🇶 The key issue remains whether Iraq can consolidate all armed activity under the authority of the state.
