Jabbar Goran, spokesperson for the Slemani Currency Market, stated:

🔎 So, what could be behind these words?
The statement comes amid discussions about the Iraqi dinar’s performance against the U.S. dollar, the gap between the official and parallel-market rates, and possible monetary reforms in Iraq.
Goran has spoken about the possibility of the dinar strengthening if economic, commercial, and financial conditions improve. There has also been discussion about potential monetary reforms involving the removal of zeros from banknotes. However, that does not automatically mean a revaluation of the dinar’s purchasing power.
📌 For those of us following the possibility of an RV, it is important to distinguish between a gradual appreciation of the dinar and a major official revaluation. This statement, by itself, does not confirm an RV or a new official exchange rate.

I find it significant that someone directly connected to the currency market is publicly saying that he personally converted his dollars into dinars and is not afraid to hold them.
That raises an interesting question: How many Iraqis are doing something similar and holding dinars at home because they believe the currency could appreciate over time? 👀
We cannot claim that these people know a future exchange rate or an upcoming RV. But it does suggest that there is confidence among at least some participants in Iraq’s own currency market that the dinar could strengthen or regain value over time.
💡 The key now is not simply to listen to statements, but to watch what the Central Bank of Iraq does, how the official exchange rate evolves, what happens in the parallel market, and whether concrete monetary reforms emerge.
