🇮🇶 Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi continues working to consolidate his government while negotiating with key figures in Iraq’s Shiite political establishment, including Nouri al-Maliki.
The major issue remains how much real power Al-Zaidi can exercise while maintaining support from the political factions that helped bring him to office.
🇺🇸 Iraq is also maintaining dialogue with Washington, including discussions about security and the government’s commitment to bringing weapons under state control.
🌍 Baghdad is simultaneously trying to strengthen its regional diplomatic role and avoid becoming a battlefield between Iran and the United States.

💰 ECONOMY
🛢️ Iraq significantly increased its oil exports in August, reaching around 2.34 million barrels per day, up from approximately 1.35 million in July.
Higher oil prices are also providing potential support for government revenues.
However, Iraq remains heavily dependent on oil, making economic diversification and stronger non-oil revenues increasingly important.
