The restart of the first unit of the Doura Gas Power Plant at the Midland Refineries Company (MRC), which is generating 18 MW of electricity to support the national grid, has been announced by Iraq’s Oil Minister, Hayan Abdul Ghani.
The second unit, which will add a capacity similar to the first, is currently being constructed.
The Minister emphasized the partnership between the Midland Refineries Company and the Ministry of Electricity and thanked the employees for their efforts in reviving the unit, which had been shut down since 2019.
