IRAQ ENTERS A NEW ERA — SOVEREIGNTY DAY

Today, September 30, Iraq officially marks the end of the U.S.-led International Coalition’s military mission against ISIS. Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi declared that a new phase has begun, centered on Iraqi sovereignty, stronger institutions, military readiness, unity of decision-making, and balanced partnerships.

🛡️ Iraq now assumes full responsibility for its security.
🏛️ The government emphasized that weapons and armed forces must remain under state authority.
🤝 Security cooperation with international partners will continue through bilateral relationships, technology, intelligence, and counterterrorism support.

💰 This is NOT an announcement of a currency revaluation. But institutionally, it represents an important transition as Iraq moves from a wartime coalition framework toward greater national control and responsibility.
